Food Connect is expanding its impact in the Twin Cities! We plan to collaborate through key partnerships with Youthprise, Feeding Frogtown, and Keystone Community Services. "We're excited to partner with GreenLight Fund Twin Cities to combat hunger," said Megha Kulshreshtha, Founder and CEO of Food Connect. "I believe the strength of our organization is our ability to combine technology, innovation, and the collective power of collaboration to strengthen food programs."
Recent reports indicate a critical surge in food insecurity across Minnesota, with the state projected to reach 9 million food shelf visits in 2024—a 1.5 million increase from 2023. Rising food costs have particularly impacted seniors and low-income families struggling to meet basic living expenses.
With our expansion into the Twin Cities we aim to:
A pilot program with Hennepin County and Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy will further enhance sustainable food recovery efforts. Through customized logistics and delivery services, Food Connect will prioritize efficient meal distribution, with a special focus on supporting people's nutritional needs.
